A vox pop (from the Latin phrase vox populi, meaning “voice of the people”) is a short, informal interview style used in journalism and broadcasting to capture public opinion on a specific issue, event, or topic.
Reporters ask ordinary people—often chosen at random in public places—quick questions to gather spontaneous, diverse, and authentic reactions that represent a snapshot of community sentiment.
In this podcast, Media Kurakani speaks with several journalists to hear their views on vox pop.
