We are back with a special 2020 movie episode! In this episode we discuss multiple films that came out in 2020 including an in depth discussion on Parasite (Directed by Bong Joon Ho) and Brahms: The Boy 2 (Directed by William Brent Bell). We also discuss other 2020 films such as Jojo Rabbit, Soul, Once upon a time in Iraq and more.
In this episode we discuss the 2015 netflix war drama Beasts of No Nation (Directed by Cary Joji Fukinaga), then we settle in with Disclosure's 2013 album Settle and finally debate a very important question.... who is the hottest cartoon character?
In this episode we get emotional discussing the 1988 Studio Ghibli film Grave of the Fireflies (Directed by Isao Takahata), then we talk about the 2014 Paolo Nutini album Caustic Love and finally decide categorically what our perfect burger is.
In this special episode we let the listener's choose our film, album and questions, with very mixed results. Firstly, we came out to playay with The Warriors (1979) suggested by Brandon, then we got very emotional listening to Carly Rae Jepsen's 2015 album Emotion and then we run through some suggested questions including... is a rat a mouse if it's in a house? How many chicken nuggets can we eat in one sitting? and what will be nostalgic in 40 years time? This was one of our most fun episodes to record and we appreciate everyone for getting involved with the suggestions and polls, we hope you enjoy our takes.
In this episode Brad gets himself cancelled by the A24 family and we spill our beans while discussing Robert Egger's 2019 film The Lighthouse, Dillon calls out the Buffalo rap group Griselda to come to his ends while we discuss their album What Would Chinegun Do? (WWCD), also from 2019 and finally we discuss who we would most like to punch us in the face. Certainly an interesting one this one. Enjoy!
In this episode Brad loses his shit about Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008), Dillon gets upset that we listened to the wrong version of PVRIS's 2014 album White Noise and Adam attempts to bring up Green Lantern as often as possible. Enjoy!
In this episode we discuss the cinematic disaster that is 2011's Green Lantern, with laughs aplenty. We then switch track to discuss Sam Fender's 2019 debut album Hypersonic Missiles, as due to the serious topics bought up in this album, we have a more serious but hopefully still entertaining discussion. This episode is certainly a bit of an emotional roller coaster and is our longest yet, so please keep an open mind while listening (and be aware that more serious issues such as racism and suicide are discussed in the latter half). We are really proud of this one, so hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making it.
In this episode we discuss two modern classics. Firstly our film discussion revolved around the Coen Brothers' 2008 film No Country for Old Men and then we discuss The Prodigy's groundbreaking 1997 album The Fat of the Land. We also have a heated debate about biscuits because we are British and that is what you do! Enjoy!
In this mini episode we discuss one of the most important aspects of British culture i.e. what is the BEST biscuit? This is a preview taken from Episode 6, where we discuss the Coen Brothers' film No Country for Old Men and the Prodigy's 1997 album, The Fat of the Land, which will be released on Monday 1pm as usual. Enjoy!
In this episode of Media Nest, we discuss the 1992 Quinton Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs and then the 2007 Paramore album Riot! Hope you enjoy!
