Luke Part 3 | Luke 6:20-26

Unpacking the beatitudes, we find that they point to a new kingdom - a new upside down reality that Jesus is bringing. We are called to be beatitude people and to live out of this reality and bring the kingdom! How are we being led by Jesus' teaching to sacrifice our present comfort for deeper + future joy, following what Jesus did on the cross?

Luke Part 2 | Luke 5:1-11

God likes to use ordinary people.  If you take a good close look at the 12 men Jesus decided to pick as disciples - fishermen, tax-collectors, and revolutionary zealots.  These are not the kind of people we’d expect to be picked for such an important position, but God uses ordinary people because it is not us who gets the glory - it's Him. It doesn’t matter how lacking we feel in our gifts and talents, God will use us! He believes in us! Jesus shows up today and says "follow me!".  Will we accept that call? Maybe the realization we must have is that it’s not about ability, it’s about availability.
