For the past decade, Sen. Phil Berger was perhaps the biggest opponent of Medicaid expansion.  But now, arguably North Carolina’s most powerful politician, Sen. Berger says it’s a slam-dunk idea and wants his fellow Republicans to vote for it this summer.  While we will talk about the policy reasons, we’ll also get an in-depth look at the evolution of his position. Later, we’ll also ask him about abortion, medical marijuana, sports betting and where he stands on gun laws.
