EP 410 " Holes In Our Socks "
Envision in your mind what you picture a successful person to look like appearance wise. Now I would say things like " Well Dressed", "Clean Cut/ Well- Kept", Nice Jewelry / Accessories , Nice Clothing, and Definitely, " Nice Shoes", now I want to focus in on those shoes. In that description, ( Chances are most envisioned some of these as well) there's no way for you to see a VISUAL cue of any problems or what we deem as unsuccessful. However beneath those shoes most of us have socks, , and successful or not how would you be able to tell they have an breach in their sock. Me personally I have been (and am currently guilty) of owning a few pairs of socks with this issue, and even though I absolutely despise it I still have them. I cant be the only one who gets annoyed walking around with that little toe hanging out through a hole in your sock all alone that eventually starts to get cold and feel separate from your body. Many times those we view publicly as leaders or in higher positions ( Pastors, Principles, Doctors, Managers, ....Parents) are often viewed as being flawless or required to have less or no mistakes. When we think about it, viewing those in these positions that way and holding them to standards that we rarely even hold ourselves to, its selfish self- centered, unfair and not possible. Now we are all guilty of this as in many ways it is a sign of admiration and respect (most often sub - consciously), but if we added a conscious effort to keep this in mind. How much more grace, forgiveness, redemption, and love could we generate in a word that lacks all of thee above. In this episode we are going to look at how something as simple as a sock with holes can be used to illustrate a bigger picture of remembering we are all human and all have problems that arent always as visual as others. We are all human therefore are guaranteed to fall or make mistakes over the course of our lives. So join us as this episode as we start looking for signs of holy socks amongst are fellow humans in day to day life, and realizing they too have problems and deserve to be human as well.
