Tip #5 Meditation progress is made mostly OFF THE CUSHION. What we mean is: the practice we do in meditation can be totally enhanced by the way we interact with the world, or the other way around. Because how we think speak and act influences our mind, and our mind dictates how we see the world. If we’re trying to work on caring for ourselves, the BEST way to create that internal pattern is by taking care of others. Our way of experiencing the world comes from us. So if we want to be happier, stress free and loving, we start that pattern by helping those around us feel that way.
Today Emmett Farley, is going to guide you in our SELF-CARE meditation, which is also known as a ""Tonglen"" meditation. This is a guided practice where we plant seeds for our own satisfaction by acting like a fairy godmother to someone else we know. By imagining that we can help others overcome their problems, and get a sense of ease and fulfillment, we leave the meditation feeling more fulfilled and satisfied.
