Here is the Part 2 of 2 of the wonderful episode.
As promised we try to bring you different speakers from students to doctors to everyone.
In todays episode after a hiatus we are back and with a bang if we may add. Today we bring you Dr. William Blazey, D.O. who oversees the delivery of all four years of medical education content at NYITCOM and academic support for the medical students in his role as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. He conducts lectures for osteopathic medical students and physician assistant students as well as faculty development programs. He is board-certified in Family Practice and OMT, providing medical care at the Academic Health Care Center at New York Tech.
We are very thankful for him to take out his valuable time out to come speak with us. We are talking about how personal at academics funtion to their leiseure time even about Personal Statements candidates write. Considering time for our listeners as well we have made this a two episodes. So, we will be talking to him further about COMLEX and USMLE and student burnouts and many more in the next episode. Till then here is the new episode of medschool2.0 with the Associate Dean at NYITCOM himself.

TAKING A BREAK !!
We have exciting episodes coming up. This is a rerun of the first episode.
===============================================================
This is Jyoti Bhattarai, who was a working physician few years back but now is a medical student starting from scratch. In this episode we have tried to start the story from the beginning going back in time, going back in memory lane; how medical school happened in the first place and how it happened the second time. We also tried to explain why go through this path again, but that is a very difficult thing to be told in one episode. I was about to go into Law as well and what stopped me from that pursuit; I have tried to share that part of the story as well. There are many inspirations and amalgamation of situations that made me choose med school again; we have tried to bring that into light. This episode will be about second chances and never giving up attitude and, in this episode, as well I have tried to spark that fuel of never giving up attitude and how second chances work.

Here at medschool 2.0 we tend to bring guests that are expert in their fields and also help put a fresh perspective in our minds. We can call ourselves lucky enough to have Dr. Sheldon Yao, Professor and Chair OMM Department at NYITCOM come to our podcast.
Dr. Yao received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) in 2002. He completed his internship and family practice residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, N.Y., and afterwards completed a one-year fellowship in neuromuscular medicine-osteopathic manipulative medicine (NMM/OMM) at North Shore-LIJ Plainview Hospital (N.Y.). He is dual-board certified in family medicine/osteopathic manipulative treatment and NMM/OMM.
He has accomplished so much in such a short period of time that we are amazed by his passion and work ethics towards the betterment of medicine and DOs in general . We are forever in his debt and will be always thankful for him for doing an episode in such a short notice and in his busy schedule.
We learnt a lot during the episode and we hope fellow students be it DOs or MDs and even pre meds can get some more insight into the world of ever changing field of medicine.

We re-start from where we left at.
We are not here to define the words but we certainly are here for the words to be out. The topic itself needs to be spoken more often and people should become familiarized and educated about the community. It’s not one person job or a job of few folks it’s everybody’s duty. We can make the world better by coming together.
These three individuals have no idea what big of an impact they’ve made on us while recording the episode. Medschool 2.0 will always be thankful for them to be here on the show and for putting a new light and fresh perspective on the topic. Johnny Voigt (OMS III), Aleksandra Ratkiewicz (OMS II) and Shea Buckley (OMS II) you guys are incredible. The sheer grit on you to surf through the shores of these difficulties and handle a big wave called medical school is a thing that is admired and respected by us.
We are thankful that being busy in your day to day life, job and studies all of you made time to be here and speak with us.
We hope our audiences enjoy and get a fresh new light on the topic. We have to be respectful of all of the listeners’ time as well so we will be bringing the episode in two halves. Here is a snippet from the first part of the episode.
Please do write to us at [email protected] and follow us on Twitter @medschoo2_0 and instagram @medschool2.0

PART 2 from where we left at in Episode 7.
We, here at medschool 2.0, are always trying to bring you topics that are close to us and we try as much as we can to bring in the guests that are involved some way or other in the topics we are discussing.
In todays episode we have tried the same. As we always say, everybody has their own stories and we are just a medium to bring those stories to light. OMS II Asnat Yuabov and Noor Asif are here talking about how they handle medschool and social media. They both are "user" and consumer of the different platforms with many followers.
We are forever thankful and grateful that even in these busy times with studies and exams they took out their valuable time to sit down and talk to us and enlighten us about the social media, the good things that it brings with it, the bad things and also if they can be useful in an education perspective.
We had to make this episode into two halves. We will be releasing the other half soon.

As promised here is the second part of the episode. Even though we bring contents biweekly, as this one is a part of previous episode we thought it would be in the best interest of our listeners to have the second part in a week's time.
We will see you again in two weeks.

Here at medschool 2.0 we always try to bring fresh topics related to the world of med school. The stories of peoples lives, because before a med student we are a human being and we have our own struggles and victories and they have a story of their own.
It's a daunting kind of feeling going into medical school for the first time. Most of us have certain mind set and ways to do things and have some kind of pre conceived notion that we would do this and wont do that. Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if someone who recently experienced that would shed some lights on what to expect from med school while not forgetting the fights we won during pre med days.
In this episode that's exactly what we have tried to achieve. We are not sure we are in the position to "advice" the new incoming class but what we surely can do is share our stories and maybe some mistakes along the way we made that we don't want the new class to repeat and help them have a smooth sailing in adjusting to the new place. Michael Gao OMS II and Vincy Mathew OMS II have exactly done the same. They spoke the truth and tried to help the incoming class by sharing their stories. After all we are in the field of helping mankind.
