Rappresenta il simbolo scelto da Charlotte Haley nel 1992 per aumentare la consapevolezza sulla prevenzione necessaria sul tumore al seno. Da allora è anche stato scelto il mese di Ottobre come mese della consapevolezza.
Nel Podcast di oggi ci siamo concentrati soprattutto su un aspetto in particolare, ovvero il trattamento che si è riuscito ad evolvere grazie al continuo progresso verso un approccio più patient-oriented, che quindi permette una maggiore personalizzazione della terapia.

Nell'episodio di oggi abbiamo avuto la possibilità di intervistare la Dottoressa Agata Mazzeo, Antropologa Medica dell'Università di Bologna che si occupa dell'aspetto umanistico, culturale e sociale che circonda la malattie da inquinamento, in particolare l'asbestosi e il mesotelioma correlato all'inalazione delle polveri di amianto.
Spesso in medicina dimentichiamo il lato umano della malattia, che ha un ruolo determinante però sulla persona e su quelli che la circondano.

Dato che siamo partiti come una realtà che racconta le esperienze degli studenti per aiutare gli altri studenti, abbiamo deciso di raccontarci e raccontarvi le nostre esperienze di Tirocinio nei vari reparti. Bene, come promesso, abbiamo realizzato la nostra prima intervista ad un prestigioso ospite, il Professor Francesco Castelli dell'università di Brescia, dove, oltre all'attività accademica, riveste il ruolo di Direttore Sanitario nell'U.O. di Malattie infettive. Abbiamo fatto una chiacchierata su come la nostra società e il mondo in cambiamento e in movimento vadano ad influenzare la trasmissione e l'evoluzione delle malattie infettive.
