  • Episode 19 - Kreena Dhiman, Part 2
In this episode, I continue my conversation with Kreena. We talk about how her dreams to grow her family after having her first child, Amala, came crashing down after she found out that her embryos were discarded.

Kreena talks me through her journey of how she found a way to make things work and how her resilience has grown after every obstacle that's thrown her way.

Finding an egg donor wasn't easy for Kreena, and now she's expecting twins! Tune in to find out how it all happened!

  • Episode 18 - Kreena Dhiman, Part 1
After speaking to Raveen in episode 1, I went onto research more South Asian women who have been passionate about starting a conversation on fertility treatment and surrogacy.

Kreena has been through breast cancer and heart failure. Despite all of that, she was determined to find solutions to start the family she always dreamed of. As an expecting mother, I had goosebumps listening to Kreena's story and it gave me a whole new perspective on motherhood.

Carrying my baby in my womb is a privilege and an honour to be able to bring a new life to this world. Many women cannot live through these nine months where they feel their baby grow and kick - and it's important we acknowledge that and understand that there is a whole different world to motherhood.

Part 2 will be with you soon.

  • Episode 17 - My Thoughts On The BLM Movement
I'm here now and ready to speak up about the BLM movement. It's taken some time for me to process all the events that have unfolded and understand how I can play a role in this movement.

After a lot of conversations with family, friends, and leaders who are organizing the biggest BLM movements in the country, I want to use my platform to raise these concerns and I'm here to listen.

This isn't the time for us to use our race card as South Asians.

    It's not about us.

  • Episode 16 - Armana Rai, Marathon Runner
Armana is the ray of sunshine you will need to start off your week! It was a conversation I very much needed with all the chaos that we are seeing around us.

Running in the South Asian community is still seen as a taboo in some parts of India and across the world. We might think that it's as easy as putting a pair of trainers on and going outside, but there are still so many barriers some women face - the main one being safety.

Armana has inspired and empowered women across the world to give their passion to run a chance and her determination to continue to do that through her own achievements is what makes her a gem of a lady!

  • Episode 15 - Ruby Dhal, Author & Poet
Ruby's Instagram page has been my saviour during this lockdown - her words resonate with every single one of my emotions I've been feeling over the last few weeks. We talk a lot about how our mental health has been hit by this pandemic and Ruby also gave me the courage to speak up about how I'm feeling during this time - something I never do on the podcast!

Ruby's experience as a writer has allowed her to understand that success will involve many years of tears, let downs, and upset - and she's okay with that, as long as she succeeds in her goal of writing a novel.

  • Episode 14 - Anila Dhami, Award-winning Presenter & Producer
Just like many other journalists, Anila is also working at the frontline and bring us all the breaking news.

Journalists have an opportunity to change the course of history during this pandemic and reveal the reality of what's happening inside and outside the walls of the hospital. As a journalist, she talks about how she feels she has a responsibility to help us come out of this as a much more informed, knowledgeable, and united society.

Anila's love for journalism sparked when she interviewed members of parliament as a teenager and the rest is history! She has worked with the biggest names in the industry and is now working on creating an organisation to help other South Asian creatives create their career paths.

One of my favourite parts of this episode is when I asked Anila about her plans for the future - she responded with something very profound. I will let you find out for yourself!
