In this episode I start out by giving the etymology of the word Eschatopia and the background of how it happened that I decided to name this podcast, Meet Me In Eschatopia. Then after briefly discuss the artwork designs and the scriptural meaning behind them we explore the incredibly fascinating way the Bible uses "mountain imagery" to describe Satan's kingdom and the soon coming Kingdom of Jesus. It goes without saying that any hope of coming to a correct eschatology depends on grasping the way the prophets and biblical authors used imagery in their prophecies of future events.

In this episode I share a teaching I gave to a Bible study group in Hong Kong on the importance of attaining the spiritual truth that the Old Testament types were pointing to. The many types surrounding Israel, the temple, the sacrifices, the feasts, the wandering in the wilderness, entering the promise land, being exiled from the land, being restore after the Babylonian exile, and many more all have a greater spiritual truth and reality built within them. As Paul said, "These things happened to them as examples and were written for our instruction, on whom the ends of the ages have come." (1 Cor. 10:11) We must humble ourselves before God asking for understanding of these truths, and then once attained, we must take those truths with us into our study of Revelation if we want any hope of unraveling the symbolism and imagery it contains.

In this episode we focus on three verses in Matthew 24 (vv.29-31), part of Jesus famous Olivet Discourse teaching on the end times, and dissect what Jesus said about His own return in power and great glory. We will discover something very interesting about what He was most certainly thinking at that moment when we trace back and consider the context of the OT verses He was pulling from as He began answering the disciples questions about what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the age.

In this episode we take a look at how the post-trib (post-week) rapture view handles the significance and timing of the seventh trumpet. I quote out of George Ladd's book, A Commentary on the Revelation of John, which reveals how the post-trib view has to treat the announcement that the loud voices in heaven make at the time the seventh trumpet sounds. Most don't realize the interpretive mechanism the post-trib (post week) view needs to employ in order to make their chronology work, not even many of those who hold this view.

In this episode we consider how the events listed under the seventh trumpet relate to the Second Coming of Jesus. Then I identity a chronology problem that some of the mainline rapture views run into and how they go about trying to resolving it.

The Rapture can only happen when Jesus appears! So, the question we should be asking is, when will He appear? Only when we find the answer this question will we be able to understand the timing of the Rapture.
