Mike Maeshiro was raised in the Baptist Church and at age 4...you read that right, at age 4, Mike was terrified of Hell. He spent the next 18 years being a Christian to avoid the Hell he believed to be true. Then, he had a Radical experience, an encounter with God that would plant the seed for his awakening, knowing that his sexuality was not a sin! He couldn’t allow it to happen then, because he was not safe to live out and proud, even though, God affirmed that they had made him Gay. Fourteen years later, God came to him 6 or 7 more times, specifically addressing his shame and his sexuality, giving him glimpses of who he was called to become. Three years later, the intensity of the Holy Spirit made it clear that staying silent and in the shadows was no longer Mike’s place and that he, Mike Maeshiro, had a platform that he was not using. They made it clear that Mike was ready to do the work of cleansing, surrendering, and releasing the pain so he could authentically live his truth. He did surrender, cracked open his pain, began to heal, and his life has never been the same!
