Pastor Chester Hitchcock loves to ”preach, teach and counsel people regarding the good news of Jesus.” He was forced into early retirement because he knew God was open and affirming and he was in a denomination that was not open or affirming.

He began his journey after meeting a couple where the husband had completed his transition from MTF. This couple had come to his church after the transition, along with their children. When she wanted to get baptized, he did it.

That is when the members of the congregation began to complain and spew homophobic rhetoric, and Pastor Chester was encouraged to take his early retirement.
