Meet Cinthya,
A french 🇫🇷 young woman currently living in Brighton who went abroad for the first time as an aupair when she was 19 years old.
In this episode she tells us how to become an Au Pair, the requirements, how to make sure you will be in good hands and the benefits of this type of abroad experience: great when you have little savings and want minimum stress in organising your leave!
Check out www.aupairworld.com which she used for both her trips in the USA and Australia.
Whe then change scenes completely and fly off to Cambodia where she interned for 6 months in a Hotel in Siem Reap 🇰🇭 (think Angkor temples). This time Cinthya experiences a real 🙈 culture shock, far away from all the westner culture she knows 👀, everything is different and takes adapting, from, the weather and the rythm at work to the food, shopping and just getting around. A trip she does not regret!
The top recommendations in Siem Reap:
🍵 Café: la couleur du thé for a poolside tea with homemade cake 🍰https://www.facebook.com/LaCouleurduTheSiemReap
🍝 Restaurant: My Little Café for delicious noodles
And carte blanche go get yourself a massage and relax! 💆
Her song 🎤 , that get’s her in the mood to explore the 🌎 world is Ed Sheeran’s famous Galway Girl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87gWaABqGYs

Meet Julie,
She tells us how she met the ♥️ love of her life during her Erasmus in 💃Sevilla, and made a 5 year long distance relationship between New York and London work before they eventually settled in together, back where it all started: in Sevilla! ♥️
The struggles they went through to be reunited, the VISA paperwork leading eventually to a smooth and welcome reintegration to Spain, although a few cultural differences with the 🇺🇸US that quickly grew on her 😊
She shares her favorite places
🌶️- El Rinconcillo: The oldest standing tapas bar that's over 350 years old. It was founded in 1670. Their specialty dish is espinacas con garbanzos (spinach with garbanzo beans). It's much more delicious than it sounds! I would recommend eating in the standing tapas area near the entrance instead of the seated restaurant section. (https://www.elrinconcillo.es/en/home/)
🥪- Bar Alfala: A tiny tapas bar with delicious dishes. Breakfast recommendation: "Tostada Andaluza," which is the traditional breakfast toast in Andalusia. It has olive oil, tomato, and Iberian ham.
🥘- Lobo Lopez: A more modern take on tapas. They offer some typical tapas dishes, as well as fusion. I would recommend any of their wok dishes. (https://www.instagram.com/lobolopeztapas/?hl=en)
along with her ➿ mixtape song 🎤"Las Cosas Más Pequeñitas" by Nolasco, reminding us to enjoy the little things in life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWixcAWJk-w
