In Episode 4 of the 'Meet the Makers' podcast Elidh speaks to Ajitesh Lokhande, a Graphic Designer and all-round creative based in Paris. The episode explores Ajitesh's own interest in both the digital and the traditional, and how he reconciles the two in his work, particularly in relation to his interest in traditional Ikat weaving. Ajitesh is a guest speaker at our upcoming Webinar, 'Sharing Kasuri's Tomorrow', which is discussed in the Webinar as we anticipate diving into how this traditional Japanese weaving technique can be used innovatively and sustainably in the future.
In this episode we speak with Brohdie, a former intern at CCD-NL who has been working on archiving our work. A MA student in Archiving, Brohdie has made valuable contributions to CCD-NL's work with Ikat weaving artisans in the NTT region of Indonesia. In the episode we discuss methods of archiving and the impact of the project, as well as the impact of working for the organisation on Brohdie herself.
In Episode 2 of our podcast we sit down with CCD-NL advisor Julita Oetojo to discuss her passion for Ikat weaving and the importance of promoting its preservation as intangible cultural heritage.
In this podcast, we sit down and talk to Maaike, founder of Textielfabrique studio and a Dutch designer who works with Ikat. Listen and enjoy while we talk about a multitude of subjects including why she became a designer and her upcoming projects!
