Drs. Joseph Hobbs and Ronald Spearman are two men who were some of the FIRST Black students to attend the Medical College of Georgia. They share their experiences of overcoming racism on campus and discrimination as some of our first Black chairs for their respective medical departments. Their commitment to excellence paved the way for future students. Now, the Medical College of Georgia is ranked as one of the top ten most diverse medical schools in the county.
