Welcome to a very special series of Candid Conversations! Throughout the month of October, we will be sharing conversations we’ve had with different women about breast cancer (and touching on the important topic of ovarian cancer, physical health, mental health, and other important issues that surround the focus of this series).
The first conversation we are sharing with you is from our friend Megan Miller Reese. A breast cancer & ovarian cancer previvor who tested positive for the BRCA1 mutation in her early 30s and made the difficult decision to have a hysterectomy and double mastectomy. We hope it helps you, inspires you, gets you thinking and talking! This is the final 15 minutes of an over hour-long conversation (available on YouTube now). This will be shared here in 4 parts (with a little editing down to make it fit)and we hope you enjoy it!
Please join the conversation by commenting below, sharing these with anyone you think they will help, liking the videos, following us on social media, and subscribing to our YouTube channel.
Unlike our normal (weekly) format, and due to the number of conversations we have to share with you, these will be posted randomly throughout the month of October. We encourage you to click the subscribe button now, so you don’t miss any of these episodes (new episodes will show up in your YouTube suggestions when you do)! Click the bell icon if you want to have a notification sent to you as new episodes are launched!
To be involved in the 2nd annual "Detect, Discuss & Defeat Breast Cancer" event at Leatherman Lane on September 17, 2022, please send us an Email at [email protected] We plan to help more women get the scans they need (because early detection is key & should be available to everyone). We are looking for donations, corporate sponsors, and items we can raffle & raise funds to help cover the cost of the scans! We will be partnering with Go Jen Go! again to help those fighting breast cancer in our area and plan to raise funds at this event with our Ride Jen Ride trail ride, silent auction, and raffle. We will have food trucks on site, live music, shopping, information, demonstrations, and more!! Mark your calendars, plan to attend, and reach out if you or someone you know can help!
