The Duke and Duchess of Sussex started 2020 with a bang, declaring their intention to step back from their roles as senior royals and carve out a different future.
The early announcement prompted urgent negotiations with the royal family, with an initial deal thrashed out to give Prince Harry and Meghan the freedom they were looking for.
