Meghan's Birthday solving A Gangster Murder at the 1920s Speakeasy

Listen Later

For this episode I'm excited to talk to you about a party that used one of my favorite mystery party investigation games. It's actually a really unique mystery because it's a prequel to one of our best sellers. Not only that it was put on by someone that I think is a total riot, and her name is Meghan.

So sometimes I'll talk about parties that we as a company have put on sometimes, we'll talk about fundraisers, local events, etc. Occasionally, very occasionally, I have the pleasure of getting to be involved in my client's mysteries. And this is a perfect example of that. So, to tell you a little bit about our hostess, Meghan, I just love connection stories. I love how people come together, and this is a cracker. So, Meghan actually sold me a car, and we immediately hit it off.  We were sitting in our office for probably a good hour just chatting about nothing to do with cars and everything to do with mysteries and escape rooms. We just really had a lot in common where that was concerned.

So, I shouldn't have been surprised at all when she showed up at one of the events that we throw locally at a very cool place called The Speakcheasy. She came with her mom and they solved The Sly Mr. Foxx, and of course they came out in their best Gatsby dresses and did a fantastic job of sleuthing out the mystery. So, when Meghan had her birthday this year, what she wanted to do was put on her own mystery for her and her group of friends in their home. Of course, she doesn't need me to be there. Nobody really needs me. I mean, we have clients all over the world. There are hundreds of these going on, on any given Saturday night and I definitely do not need to be there. So, I kind of elbowed my way into an invitation. I said I'll facilitate it, and then you can just enjoy your birthday with your friends and you don't have to think about anything.

I also knew that she was going to go completely crazy with decorations and things like that. So, I wanted to be there and take some pictures and talk about it afterwards, which brings us to this episode of the Shot In The Dark Mysteries podcast!
