最近美俄關係因為美國企業受到大量來自俄羅斯的駭客攻擊而降至冰點，JBS美國最大的牛肉供應商，支付勒索駭客等值1100萬美金的比特幣 (Bitcoin)。根據美國網路安全公司的統計，至今已經有至少200家美國企業遭受攻擊，其中還包含了美國殖民管道 (Colonial Pipeline) 五月時的網路攻擊，導致美國東海岸石油供應短缺，公司已經支付駭客約500萬美元的比特幣，其中230萬美元被FBI追回。
