Melisa and her family immigrated to the Bay Area from Mexico when she was a child. Growing up, Melisa saw first hand the inequities the Latinx community faced in regards to medical care. This prompted her to seek a career in the medical field later in life. She is now a Registered Nurse and hopes to inspire the Latinx community to pursue career paths in the medical field and diversify the industry.
