My name is Melissa Sue Vair (she/her) and I have premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD. PMDD is physical, psychological, and emotional pain in the premenstrual (or luteal) phase of the menstrual cycle. After studying and sharing yoga for nearly a decade, the onset of the pandemic pushed me to move online, at which time I decided to focus on teaching menstruators with PMDD how to persevere using yoga! 1 in 20 women have PMDD and may not know it, so my truth is to share my experience and what I know to be helpful! Yoga for PMDD is about sharing accessible practices for managing PMDD while honoring the difficulty of living with a cyclical chronic illness. I believe in patience, practice, and perseverance, community care and support, self-empowerment and self-love.
