Imagine 

A tall, a phenomenally tall apartment building...some rooms are lit up some are not 

The building appears a golden yellow from the lights on the lit floors 

Each of the windows is a glimpse into someone’s world or life. 

I ended up in a city again, shall we peruse? What feelings do you have in your place that you love? The place that you can't help but return to. 

Let's explore it together. 

Do you know those awful days when it feels like everything is just going wrong? When you play some Ed Sheeran and just sob as the shower water runs around you. When it's hard stop your hands from shaking? And then there are those moments when you feel like you could break out into a choreographed dance number. When you are holding yourself back from skipping down the sidewalk because even the sun feels brighter. In this episode, we talk about emotions! Or rather, why some emotions are so much more fun than others to experience. What relationships can we develop with our emotions, and do we? And if not why?  

An exploration into postcolonial theory and postcolonial feminism through the written works: Jamaica Kincaid's "Girl," Nawal El Saadawi's "In Camera," and "Seasons of Migration to the North" by Tayeb Salih. 

Why does it get so hard? To reflect, one is removed from the action and sits within themselves until the inner turmoil and conflict are resolved.

We reflect on the changes that COVID has introduced and the way that our school experience has changed the way that we regard and look at our ability to look after our mental health as well as those around us. 

This can be a difficult time in our lives and mental health isn't always smooth sailing. Moderation is key. However, being equipped with the knowledge to make logical decisions about the sometimes overwhelming state of our mental well-being can be a challenge. To impose guidelines on the female body is to deny it of its beauty. To develop conceptions that surround an abstract and intimate process such as femininity is to be ignorant to the meaning of sexuality. 

In this episode guest speaker Sabrina and I will break down what being a female looks like in modern society but more specifically how do we find a space for ourselves in the commentaries surrounding femininity and what being a female means. From pop culture to personal stories we will discover the difficulties we face in establishing and feeling comfortable in our identities.

We not only debunk mindfulness practices but we are able to identify and follow the process of attaining that works best for you. From mindful eating to being in the presence of people without people we will be able to reach a better understanding of the role of meditation in our lives.
