James 1:2-4 -- The word of God teaches that we should count it all joy when we experience trials. But the world along with our feelings oftentimes tells us to call it quits when we are suffering. Without the right perspective, we will miss out on what God is doing in us and through us in times of trail and tribulation. If we are going to grow strong, we are going to have to endure hardship. Listen to the Daily Word for encouragement to have the biblical perspective on pain.

Psalm 33 -- Wait or Worry? Who we put our hope and trust in will determine how we respond to the things we experience in this life. The psalmist encourages us to put our trust in the word of the Lord and not the ways of man. Listen to the Daily Word to hear how to wait well.

Judges 8:4 -- In tough times we all experience exhaustion, but we must not become weary in doing the good work of the Lord. It is necessary to continue to pursue that which God has called us to even in the midst of painful times. Listen to the Daily Word to receive encouragement to continue to go after the things of God.

John 11:3, 7-8  

In order to be people of compassion, we must first be people who care. People who care don't live in a cocoon just thinking of self. We are called to see the pain that others are dealing with and be moved by it, both internally and externally. Listen to today's word to hear what it means and looks like to be people who care.

John 11:33-36

How do we provide hope to people that are hurting without being dismissive of their pain? The word of God gives us direction on how to be people of compassion so we can bring the love of the Lord to people who are hurting. Hear how to meet people where they are and walk with them to the place that God has for them to be.

We will respond to our Redeemer based on what we have seen and/or see or what he says. The Bible encourages us to take God at his word and be expectant that he will perform his promises. I pray this post encourages us all to respond to the hope we have in Jesus and not the hurt that we experience in this world.
