Most of us are familiar with the role of a translator. The translator is to convey the speaker’s message to listeners. They are not at liberty to add to or subtract from speaker. As the speaker gestures, they gesture. As the volume increases so does the emphasis. When the speaker gets quiet, they do too. In some ways, it is as if the translator and the speaker become one. If we look closely, this is what we see with Jesus and God...

In Colossians 3:13, and the parallel passage in Ephesians 4:32, Paul gives one of the most difficult commands in the Bible for Christians to follow. He says in Colossians 3:13, “Forgive as the Lord forgave you,” and again in Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” The command is to forgive, but often we equate forgiveness with how we feel about another person....

The goal of this weekly talk is to help you and me dig into some of the things going on around us through the lens of Christ. This includes culture, family, friends and so much more… Today my hope is to talk about the important opportunity that College Campus Ministry provides. College is certainly on many seniors' minds, as they prepare to graduate in a little over a month and launch into the world.

There is a variety of content of TikTok - funny videos, dancing videos, rant videos, and lip-sync videos. But there is a growing amount of Christian content. This content can range from someone sharing an encouraging word or scripture to creative Christ-centered rewrites of the popular secular songs.

What is your rescue story? Maybe you were stranded on the side of the interstate with a flat tire when a stranger stopped and changed the spare. Perhaps it was more serious - a car accident or house fire and a first responder came to your rescue. Maybe it was as simple as standing in line at Walmart only to discover you didn’t have your wallet and the person behind you covered the bill. What about your Spiritual Rescue story....?

Don’t live in the Past. When Paul says “Forgetting what is behind”, he isn’t telling us to literally not remember anything. Certainly, we should remember who we were before Christ found us – Paul did, he called himself the sinner of all sinners. We should remember the times we have seen God’s faithfulness demonstrated – Paul would always remember the day he met Christ, the day the chains fell off in prison, the love he received...
