We hear a lot about the rough treatment of women and girls in Afghanistan. Rightly so. But on “Men Are Talking” we wonder, think and talk about life for men and boys.
Rich Walton spent 4-1/2 years as a construction manager for an American company in Afghanistan. Jack had never had the chance to talk with an American civilian who had worked closely with and among Afghani civilians.
And so we invited Rich to talk with us about life for men and boys in Afghanistan.

Rich chronicles his Afghanistan adventure in his book “One Brick at a Time: Winning the Hearts and Minds of the Afghan People.” Available at the usual places online, from onebrickatatimepress.com, and from your local bookstore. Order ISBN-13: 9781737858805.
Teenage boys and girls are on a month-long wilderness adventure. Two boys or two girls to a tent. Near one of the boys’ tents a girl exits hers and proceeds to become topless. A nearby boy can't believe what he’s seeing.
The Matrix* seizes control. The Sisterhood knows what this is all about.
Leering miscreant boy!
Vulnerable traumatized girls!
The Rule of Law is no match for feminism's Rule of “Awww…”
Due Process becomes “Do process your oppression.”
And we wonder why men are not always happy when women take “leadership”?
Ah, yes. Because they are insecure. And why is that? Because they are afraid of Progress!

Lance Hillsinger is a social worker with 34 years experience in the very difficult field of child welfare and child protective services.
He is one of the few social workers I have ever met who thinks and cares deeply about how to improve social work, social services and social policy for men.
It's a shame and a disgrace that social work talks so much about diversity and has so few men like Lance, so few of any men at all.

We talked about four main topics:
- The relationship between Anger and Depression in Men
- A Men's Health Initiative Jed calls The Moonshot
- The Father Wound, especially the often unnoticed Father Wounds in women
- The opportunities of The Disillusionment Stage of marriages and other long-term relationships
We also took a minute to talk about the benefits Jed has derived from almost fifty years in his men's group.
And, of course, we started off talking about our fashion choices.
The Depression assessment instrument we talked about is under the STRUGGLING WITH DEPRESSION? heading at https://menalive.com/resources/ebooks-quizzes-and-videos.
