2025 has been a wild year and I am proud of all the videos I've made and the transformations I have accomplished.

I was hoping to finish my next video on randomness and digital dice before the new year, but my day-job and some health complications decided otherwise.

I plan to continue practicing drawing, learning Blender, and other creative crafts while on break.

No promises, but I will try to post what I can to BlueSky, Mastodon, and Telegram; but I'm going to focus on experiencing and enjoying my break time.

In this episode...

We use random chance to bring excitement to our roleplay games, board games, video games, and more. But are physical dice or digital dice better? Brennan Lee Mulligan and Aabria Iyengar discussed this on Dimension 20's Adventuring Academy and I am going to dive deeper into this topic.

In this episode of Menagerie Chats we will explore physical dice. First, we test real coin flips v.s. imagined ones. Can you tell which is which? Randomness is not intuitive.

Along the way, I share stories about my experience in a statistics class and my luck at a game night playing Yahtzee. I also connect the way dice work to chaos theory and the butterfly effect.

Then we look into fair and unfair dice. I explore salt testing the dice, suggested by Aabria, and share my research into how casinos test their dice.

In another episode, I'll dive into how computers generate random numbers for digital dice!

It takes a fair amount of research on our part before we feel comfortable using labels for ourselves and we've made some mistakes along the way.
