Every Womyn and Her Dog – Episode 8

Menopause - The hidden invitation

We’ve taught women what menopause can do to their bodies.

But have we taught them what menopause may be asking of their lives?

In this episode of Every Womyn and Her Dog, Joanne Lea is joined by Katelyn Dwyer-Taylor and special guest Sandra Stack, creator of Sh!ft-ology, author of This Is Your Shift, and Inner Mastery Coach.

Together, they bring three different perspectives to the conversation: Katelyn as a woman who has not yet reached this threshold, Jo as she navigates perimenopause, and Sandra as a woman who has crossed through menopause herself.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, this conversation explores menopause as a threshold, a rite of passage and an invitation into a different way of living.

They discuss why women are often taught to manage menopause rather than consciously meet it, what may be unfolding beneath the physical changes, and how this transition can reshape identity, priorities, boundaries, purpose and self-trust.

In this episode, we explore:

  •  What is missing from mainstream conversations about menopause
  •  Why menopause can be understood as a threshold or initiation
  •  The difference between managing symptoms and meeting the deeper transition
  •  Why younger women may benefit from learning about menopause long before it begins
  •  How modern culture has lost much of its education around women’s rites of passage
  •  The identity shifts that can accompany perimenopause and menopause
  •  How women can move with this transition rather than only resist it
  •  The importance of spaces that support reflection, connection and conscious change

This episode is not anti-medical and does not dismiss the physical realities of menopause.

Support the symptoms.

Seek the care you need.

And perhaps, don’t miss the significance of the transition itself.
