1. Have Daily baths and Showers even during the menstruation cycle. 2. Change underwear daily or when stained during menstruation. Always wear clean underwears. 3. Wash hands with soap and clean water before and after changing sanitary pad/cloth. 4. Change sanitary material(pad/cloth) at least three times a day or when soaked. 5. To wash the sanitary cloth use hot water and salt and dry them under sun. 6. Always use clean cotton materials/clothes that have been preserved specifically for menstruation every month. 7. Do not dry sanitary cloths inside dark corners of the house. 8. Using unclean pads can actually lead to fungal infections, reproductive tract infection, urinary infection. 9. Change sanitary pad/cloth frequently to prevent rashes, vaginal yeast infections and effect of bad odour. 10. Use of fresheners is not needed. Perfume/deodorant/talcum powder should not be directly applied to the genital area. It can cause irritation. 11. To clean the sanitary cloth soak the soiled material in soapy water for 20 minutes. Stir & shake the water with your hand. Sun dry the cloth.
