The Travel Addict

Mental Fitness Coach Amy Yip sold all her belongings in New York and moved to Ghana for volunteer work. Hear her story.

Listen Later

When material things and wealth do not become the most important thing in a person's life, but rather the need to help other people, even if just for a few months, is very commendable. Amy and her husband were living comfortably in a NYC apartment but decided to sell all of their belongings and buy a one-way ticket to Ghana to volunteer at a breast cancer non-profit facility.
Covid came along and they ended up being stuck in Ghana for 7 months. Many people made comments such as, "That must have sucked!" I wasn't surprised to hear Amy say, "It didn't suck at all." In fact it was an experience they will treasure for a long time.
Occasionally, I hear derogatory comments about countries from people who have never been there or understand their culture. To me, that is just wrong. This is why travel is so important and educational.
Amy is a "Life Transformation & Mental Fitness Coach", and being a Digital Nomad, she is able to help people everywhere, wherever she is in the World. Isn't technology wonderful.
