New Hampshire lawmakers are considering legislation that would allow kindergarten through 12th grade students excused absences from school to deal with mental health challenges. The support for this bill claims that by removing the barrier of having an absence on your report card, it removes the stigma of having mental illness and allows the student to take that time without fear of negative consequences to their grades, etc. NH woman Martha Dickey lost her teenage son to suicide and is urging lawmakers to pass this legislation. Dickey joined Dan to discuss.
