Steven Judge and Geraldine get together again to talk about burnout and strategies to support the practitioner to avoid burnout. Emotional signs and symptoms of burnout appear differently for everyone, we only touched on a few of the symptoms in the interview, here are some of the others - Sense of failure and self-doubt, lacking empathy and emotion when you should feel emotion. Feeling helpless, trapped, defeated and perhaps over-emotional in a situation you wouldn’t have felt in the past. Detachment, feeling alone in the world, wanting to give it all away. Loss of motivation and job/life satisfaction. Increasingly cynical and negative outlook towards your job, your self or your personal life.
