  • Melissia Kilby - Global Womens Rights And Girl Up
Melissa Kilby is the Co-Executive Director of Girl Up, a leadership development program working to achieve gender equality for all girls everywhere. Melissa co-leads this initiative, hosted at the UN Foundation, that inspires, convenes, trains and connects girls globally, helping to position them as leaders and changemakers.
Since joining in September 2011, Melissa has helped Girl Up raise over $15 million dollars to support a robust girl’s leadership program and the work of Girl Up’s United Nations partners. Melissa works with corporations such as The Walt Disney Corporation, Caterpillar, Johnson&Johnson, Oath, and others, as well as manages the grant-making and investments to UN agencies including UNICEF, UNHCR, UNFPA, and UN Women.
She has traveled to Guatemala, Ethiopia, Malawi, and India to meet girls directly benefiting from the fundraising efforts of Girl Up supporters. Under Melissa’s leadership, Girl Up has grown into a global gender equality movement of more than 700,000 supporters and impacted the lives of more than 65,000 girls around the world.
I found this conversation to be enlightening, I was really curious about the concept of global female equality and had a lot of questions about cultural differences. Melissa helped me find new perspectives and had a lot of stories to share
So without further ado, Melissa Kilby

    https://www.mentorzmedia.com/post/top-of-the-line-interviewing-and-personalized-marketing
Hello everybody and welcome back to MentorZ. Right now we are continuing our interview with Hala Taha. Last we left off, she was talking about her time at Hewlett-Packard. In her time there, she quickly built a long-lasting culture shift that provided her opportunities that she would have not even thought of. Now, we are about to dive into to the concept of positive affirmations and the increasingly popular idea of the Law of Attraction, Later on, we will learn about Hala’s marketing strategy for her podcast. And if we have any other podcasters or journalists in the audience - Hala has some amazing advice over interviewing people, ranging from in-depth research, to how to handle opposing opinions with your guest. All of these pieces of advice have been compiled into a free rescue article titled “Top-of-the-Line Interviewing and Personalized Marketing - The Secret Sauce to Y.A.P's Success” for you in the bio below. And with that, let’s jump back into the interview!
Hala Taha is the host to the Young and Profiting Podcast. She interview some of the brightest minds in the world with their main mission being to turn their guest’s wisdom into actionable advice. They are a top 10 Self-Improvement and How To Podcast on Apple Podcasts in US, Canada, Australia, UK and more.
Hala herself started her career at WQHT Hot97 as the production assistant for Angie Martinez, then created “The Sorority of Hip Hop” - and an entertainment news, fashion and music blog that gained massive success. And now she works at Disney Streaming Services! Her days are with Disney and her nights and lunchbreaks are dedicated to her podcast!
Interviewing Hala was such a fun experience for me personally. She is brimming with field experience and gives impeccable advice and directional pointers when she was developing her early career. One thing that had me absolutely floored was the fact that she dedicated almost all of her time to her personal development or her work. No slacking here! If you’re looking for an ambitious mentor, I’d like to present you to Hala Taha.
