Jay Walsh in this Military History snapshot looks at the WW1 German Tank Mephisto.  Mephisto is the only surviving example of an A7V.

The tank became stuck in a shell-hole during a German attack at Villers-Bretonneux on the Western Front.  The tank was abandoned by its crew and was recovered by Allied Troops after the war and taken to Australia where it is now housed at the Queensland Museum.
