Twilight: the period of the evening between daylight and darkness. As we continue our Advent series, we look back at what has happened and look ahead to what has yet to happen. God's promise to return, to permanently scatter the night and usher in a new day. How are we to live as we wait?

This Sunday, we begin our Advent series. Jason Newell kicks off Advent with part 1: Night. Darkness is an all-encompassing reality that must relent to the slow and sure progress of the light of day. In the shadow of night, how do we look ahead to the break of dawn? What do the Scriptures tell us about the light of God's salvation?

What is contentment and where does it come from? In a world of instant gratification, how does Christ's strength give us peace?

How do we know we are relationally healthy? In Philippians 4:2-9, we see how important it is for Christians to be at peace with one another. We can do this by choosing to rejoice in the Lord, not be anxious but instead submit our requests to God, and to meditate on good things. In all these, the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Our good friend, Matt Martinez visits from Capital City Church in Sacramento and continues our series in Philippians. In chapter three, Paul exhorts us to forget our old life, our pride, our abilities, our earthly flesh and press on toward the goal – our upward call in Christ Jesus.

The narrative that fuels our life determines a lot about how we think. In Philippians 3:1-11 we see that the story of Jesus is the fuel for Pual's life. As Paul reflects on how he thinks about life, he warns against righteousness and encourages people to abide in Jesus.

Shawn continues our series in the book of Philippians. This week's passage isn't just the travel plans of Paul and Timothy, it's all about imitation! Two ordinary men who imitated an extraordinary King! Humility is not self-centered, it is not first others-centered, it means we are Christ-centered.
