Daniel came into confrontation with the State. When you obey the Lord- when you stay true to Him and it brings you into conflict with the State- you will always be accused of being a scofflaw- of being treasonous- of being unpatriotic and a threat to the State. The truth is however - that we are not scofflaws. We are not treasonous. We are not unpatriotic or a threat to the State, rather we are a benefit to the State because we expose their lawlessness- make them face the fact that they are not God- remind them that their authority has limits- and give them opportunity to recover themselves.
