Speaker: Matthew Trewhella

Broadcaster: Mercy Seat Christian Church

Event: Current Events

Date: 7/9/2006

Bible: 1 Kings 12:25-33

Overview: -To the people, all religions were equally true- to the philosophers, all religions were equally false- and to the politicians, all religions were equally useful.- -Edward Gibbons, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.----This sermon points out that it is the nature of the State to always use religion for its own ends. Most States use religion to homogenize, utilize, and manipulate the people. Even those States which are atheistic still find religion useful. There are always those in religion who are willing to accommodate the State's designs in using religion. 36 min. MercySeat.net

Title: Pornography

Subtitle: Family

Speaker: Matthew Trewhella

Broadcaster: Mercy Seat Christian Church

Event: Current Events

Date: 6/30/2000

Bible: Hebrews 4:14-16

Length: 37 min.

Overview: The Supreme Court case Miller v. California opened the floodgates of filth in 1973. Since then, men have been robbed of their manhood as they have drowned themselves in their sinful desires. The majority of men today wrestle with or in bondage to pornography -and a great host of women also-. Pornography causes men to forget their role and duty. It causes them to compromise with evil in society. It neutralizes them and causes them to be silent and not speak out and defend their families. This sermon exposes the evil of pornography and gives a game plan to rid it from your life. MercySeat.net 36 min.

Title: A Christian Response to the Salem Witch Trials

Subtitle: Church History

Speaker: Matthew Trewhella

Broadcaster: Mercy Seat Christian Church

Event: Sunday Service

Date: 6/22/2014

Bible: Acts 19:11-19

Length: 51 min.

Overview: A common allegation on America's universities is that Christians killed millions of witches. The truth is however, that those numbers have long been repudiated. Historians and scholars -non-Christian and Christian alike- estimate the number to be, over a 500 year period - the 1200's to 1700's, about 40-50 thousand put to death. Compare those numbers to the Enlightenment inspired French Revolution -an event birthed in humanism, statism, socialism, feminism, sexual licentiousness - everything at war against Christ- which ended in 50,000 deaths in just two years.----This sermon gives facts and dispels myths regarding witch trials across Europe and here in America. 44 min. Date: 2/24/2008

Bible: Ephesians 5:22-32

Length: 47 min.

Many marriages languish precisely because they refuse to submit to God's design - choosing rather to embrace the pagan thought of the larger culture.----The Lord calls upon the bride to submit to her husband - He calls upon the groom to love his wife. It is a picture of our relationship as His bride. And in it is found the key to a fruitful marriage. 41 min.
