The New Year is a frequent time for people to assess where they are and where they are headed. That's always a great exercise. But, far too often we are only thinking about the new things that we are adding to our lives without regard to all the other stuff that we've already got going on. That is, we have commitments and responsibilities and relationships that, if not addressed, might shackle us in our pursuits of new adventures.

This message encourages Christians to aspire to the newer and higher things of God, but like Levi (Luke 5:28) we might need to leave some things behind in order to follow Christ.

We should be celebrating the reason for the season. The reason for the season is Jesus Christ whom is the miraculous gift from God given to save us.

If we give a gift, how long will it last. God gives us gifts that are long-lasting and provide fulfillment in our spiritual walk with Him. How do we give long-lasting fulfilling gifts to others?

God gives us good gifts and gives us what we need when we need it. How do we determine what a good gift is?

There are hidden crevices in our lives that leave us vulnerable to deceiving spirits.
