God walked Peter through his plan and his view of Jews and Gentiles; there is no longer any distinction, and no one any longer is unclean. God's plan is to save all men, and Jesus broke down the wall of partition and eliminated any separation of Jew and Gentle as explained in Eph 2:11-22, Col 2:14, and Gal 3:28.

During the time in Medina, Muhammad and the revelations given grew in approval of violence. They raided caravans, fought the Meccans, and beheaded hundreds of non-Muslims.

Trial, test, and tempt are all translations of the same word, showing that the meaning is very broad, and made even broader by the adjective

When did Islam start, and how? What did Muhammad see or hear that led him to start a new religion?

1 Peter is a simple and rich book about the Christian life, the significance of the new covenant realities in Christ, and many other topics, and right in the midst of them is hardship. Just as Jesus Christ the righteous suffered unjustly, we following his example will suffer unjustly also for being righteous according to God's will. In response, we should trust our souls to God, for he is faithful and sovereignly working all these sufferings together for our good.
