Afterburn: also known in the world of fitness as the “afterburn effect”, simply put; The more intense the exercise, the more oxygen your body consumes afterward.

The same could be true as you build up your spiritual self. After an intense teaching session, you need answers as more thoughts and questions consume you in your spiritual growth.

Rabbi Steve Berkson, director of MTOI, provides an opportunity for the Afterburn to take place by additional thoughts and insight about what he just taught as well as answering questions from the local congregation and those watching the live stream.

  • Episode 878: The Fruit That Remains

The definition of 'remain' is "continue to exist, especially after other similar or related people or things have ceased to exist." The fruit defined in Galatians 5:22-23 identifies those covenanted with Elohim. As we endeavor to become like Messiah Yeshua, this fruit must remain in us.

The fruit produced by the old man's fleshly nature, called "nasty fruit" by Elder Jackson, cannot remain as it has no part in the Kingdom of Messiah and must be dealt with and discarded.

Elder William Jackson questions us all: when the time comes, will your fruit remain, and will you hear the words, "well done, good and trustworthy servant?”

    • John 15:1-4 – The pruning process
    • John 15:5-8 – Stay connected
    • John 15:9-15 – Stay in My love: remain obedient
    • John 15:16 – You were chosen by Messiah to bear fruit
    • Men are like puppies
    • What are you choosing over producing?
    • Ephesians 4:11-13 – Help
    • The example of human fertilization
    • Jeremiah 17:7-8 – Blessed is the man who’s trust IS Yahweh
    • Galatians 5:19-21 – Do not produce this fruit
    • Galatians 5:22-23 – Do produce this fruit
    • Ephesians 4:12-13 – To the completeness of Messiah

  • Episode 876: The Roles of Men & Women | Part 4

These days, some cannot define the meaning of ‘woman,’ men think they are women, or women decide they are men. Society uses terms such as toxic masculinity, macho, chauvinist, misogynist, and sexist to describe men. Because of this, the roles of men and women, as Elohim intended, are all but lost to the depravity of the human condition.

Addressing a topic not talked about robustly in Scripture, Rabbi Steve Berkson embarks on resetting our understanding of what men should be and do and what women should be and do. He begins at the Beginning when the creation of Mankind commenced.

Rabbi Berkson adds a twist to this teaching by connecting the account in Genesis, the Garden of Eden, with Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Before this teaching series is complete, Rabbi Berkson will have traversed the entirety of Scripture so that you are confident that the message is sound and founded on the Word of Elohim.

    • Intro
    • 1 Corinthians 7:1 – Where’s the other half of the conversation?
    • Because of ‘whoring’ - the Greek word ‘porneia’
    • 1 Corinthians 7:4-5 – Do not deprive one another
    • Your lack of self-control
    • Paul’s perspective on relationships in his time
    • If possible, do not separate
    • Stay as you are
    • The signs of Paul’s time and relational distraction
    • Temptation can come from a lack of intimacy and a lack of self-control
    • Wrapping it up
