  • Covenant Community 101: Are You Covenanted? Part 33
The prophet Jeremiah was given some severe words to speak to the people concerning how they were behaving while being in covenant with their Elohim. They were living in the land and claiming Yahweh to be their Elohim yet, at the same time, living according to the idolatry of the nations around them, but thinking they were doing it unto Yahweh. Yahweh said no more! “Why should my beloved be in my house? She has done wickedness with many.” (Jeremiah 11:15)

Rabbi Steve Berkson points out from the warnings of Jeremiah that loving with the world and being in covenant with Yahweh is impossible. You will have to hate one and love the other.

Going forward, Rabbi Berkson digs deep into the metaphor of the olive tree with its branches getting broken off and other branches grafted in beginning in Jeremiah 11:16 and moving into Romans 11 and John 15.

  • Covenant Community 101: Are You Covenanted? Part 32
What kind of relationship do you think you have with our Creator?

Do you believe you are “in covenant” with the Almighty?

What are the two things needed to have the correct relationship with YHVH? What determines whether or not you have a relationship with Him?

Proverbs 5:5 talks about a “strange woman” and how “her feet go down to death”–what meaning could be gotten by “her feet” in this passage?

What kind of possession would be worse that being demon-possessed?

What does the word “brutish” mean?

Continuing the journey in Proverbs, Rabbi Steve Berkson breaks down key terms and phrases, i.e., the “strange woman” whose “feet go down to death”. Branching out into Jeremiah 10 and 11 Rabbi Steve shows us how we can be against ourselves if we don’t live this covenant-life according to the right knowledge (relationship) with our Creator.

What is significant about a “teacher’s wisdom”? (Proverbs 5:1)

Who (or what) is this “strange woman” we find in Proverbs 5:3?

Yeshua talked about the “leaven of the Pharasees”–what was that?

How many people does it take to “make peace”?

What does it mean to validate each other’s position and feelings when dealing with conflicts in relationship?

Why does Yaakov (James) call his readers “adulterers and adulteresses”? (James 4:4)

Rabbi Steve Berkson continues with the topic of how wisdom, understanding and knowledge relate to keeping covenant with the Almighty. In this teaching he continues to explore the word “bitter” as it is used in scripture.

Also more Covenant-Life coaching as Rabbi Steve imparts some of the wisdom he has acquired over the time he’s spent counseling many people in many phases of this covenant walk.

  • Covenant Community 101: Are You Covenanted? Part 30
Going to the book of the prophet Amos, chapter 5, we are staying with the topic of how wisdom, understanding and knowledge relate to keeping covenant with the Almighty. In this episode Rabbi Steve Berkson continues looking at the references of “wormwood” to discover the relevance for you today.

Then from “wormwood” we get the word “bitter”. Rabbi Steve takes us into Isaiah 5:20-21 and James chapter 3 so we might understand what the word “bitter” is referring to.

  • Covenant Community 101: Are You Covenanted? Part 29
Continuing on our journey through the book of Proverbs we are staying with the topic of how wisdom, understanding and knowledge relate to keeping covenant with the Almighty. In this episode Rabbi Steve Berkson continues looking at the references of “wormwood” to discover the relevance for you today.

We also discover that a majority of what we read in the writings of the Apostles (New Testament) can be found as having already been said and written about in the Tanak (Old Testament). Rabbi Steve gives an example of that in the verse from Jeremiah 23:28 that talks of the chaff and wheat relating it to a parable given by Yeshua in Matthew 13.

Why aren’t we in the Hebrew Roots, Messianic Movement, Torah Observant group seeing the manifestation of miracles like perhaps the Christian group claiming to see?

Rabbi Steve tells us his mandate in teaching the Body of Messiah. He also gives us his view on eschatology (study of the end time) and gives a synopsis of his teaching on that subject.
