In this episode, we explore positive affirmations—why they work, how they help rewire the subconscious mind, and the power they have to shift your internal dialogue. You’ll learn how repeating intentional, encouraging phrases can actually create new neural pathways and help replace negative thought patterns as you become more aware of them. Whether you’re new to affirmations or looking to deepen your practice, this episode offers practical insights and gentle encouragement to help you speak life over yourself—one thought at a time.
Thanks for listening! I hope your day is awesome!

In this first episode, I’m sharing why I’ve rebranded the podcast from EdPursuits to Messy but Meaningful—and what this new direction is all about.
If you’ve ever felt like life is beautifully chaotic, like you’re trying to do it all but still want to stay grounded in what truly matters, this space is for you. I’m here to cheer you on, offer encouragement, and help you find peace and purpose in the everyday mess. Plus you're probably doing better than you realize!!
You’ll hear a bit of my story, the heart behind this new name, and what you can expect in the episodes ahead—real conversations, practical ideas, and a whole lot of grace. We'll still be talking about homeschooling, raising kids, gardening and farm animals, herbs and mindset and mindfulness- all the things!
Let’s do this journey together—with joy, with purpose, and without needing it to be perfect. Thanks for being here!!

We are planting seedlings, capturing chickens and getting ready for bees. Hopefully we're able to follow through and not get too tired! We're plugging along with school and trying to declutter too! Hopefully it will make you feel encouraged too, we all just do the best we can!
In this episode we talk about how important it is to follow up on the homeschool assignments we give our kids. Whenever you require more from your kids, it can be hard for them to make the transition to doing more than before. There may be complaints and feet dragging, but if you persevere and follow up with them before they are allowed to do the fun things, then they will know you are serious and adjust to the new schedule!
I share my experiences and thoughts on learning languages basically from my own experience and the experiences of my family. I spent 5 years in Mexico as a child and almost 4 years in France as an adult. The biggest thing is to listen so you can get used to the sounds of the language and to just keep trying!!
It turns out that that migraines and all kinds of issues can come up because of hormone fluctuations during the menstrual cycle. It's so helpful to really pay attention to your body and to start to find things that help. It's also important to be gentle with ourselves and keep up
hope that we will find solutions.
In this episode we talk about bringing some plants back inside. We talk about kitchen routines and finding the fortitude to clean the kitchen before bed- and a few other things. I hope to be keeping you good company!
The frost has come, but lots is still going on in the garden. We talk about which plants froze, which are still growing strong and lots about herbs and how to use them. I met a cool lady who grows a lot of herbs and dries and sells them. She also sells salves and tinctures and gives health consultations. I learned a little, she was very informative and interesting. It was really fun to see all her plants- and most of her plants were fine because she covered them all with mulch and sheets.

In this episode we talk about incorporating sourdough easily even though it can be hard at first. I go into more detail on how we homeschool. It is hard, but worth it. Also focus on what you're doing right, and what strengths your kids have instead of just where you lack. That can really help get through the tough times when you think you're doing it wrong!!
In this episode we talk about what true humility is- it's in our actions rather than the fake outter humility people often think is humility. It's recognizing that we can always learn more and improve- it's a really good thing to strive for and to teach our children to strive for!
