In this episode I interview Professor Colin Pritchard, a distinguished academic and in my experience, a lovely, generous, wise individual. Professor Colin Pritchard is an Emeritus Professor, School of Medicine, University of Southampton and Visiting Professor at Dept Psychiatry and Research Professor in Psychiatric Social Work, Bournemouth University.
I watched a youtube series of him being interviewed by Richard Williams - I watched all of them over two days, and found them captivating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aB5mjaSnaY&list=PLojsAdAKgOvoP2n317wFqQyRL3QwxTWPq
His research can be found here, and the article discussed in this episode' who kills children' can be found here.

Building on the conversation from last week's episode with Danny and Mike from Lads Like Us, I explore professional curiosity and #askwhy that they passionately and eloquently advocated for. I explore the same topic from a practical and practice point of view. I share tips and principles that facilitate compassion and professional curiosity with adults and children.

Messy Social Work is a podcast for social workers, leaders, students and anyone interested in helping people navigate life's toughest challenges.
Hosted by Rich Devine and…
Each week, we speak with leading thinkers, practitioners, researchers and people with lived experience to explore what helps, what harms and what social work can learn from both success and failure.
Expect honest conversations, practical ideas, challenging questions and occasional disagreement, all grounded in a belief that meaningful change happens through relationships.
Because social work isn't neat.
It's messy.
