Meta Platforms, the company formerly known as Facebook, and International Business Machines (IBM), have formed an AI Alliance with over 50 AI companies and research institutions to endorse an open model of Artificial Intelligence. The coalition, which includes Oracle, Cornell University, and the National Science Foundation, aims to support open innovation and open science in AI. Amidst a competitive market with rivals such as OpenAI, many of the participating companies which have their own AI products hope for a repositioning in the limelight. The AI Alliance intends to cater to businesses seeking diversified AI product provisions, with an integrated AI hardware and software solution as the end goal.
