Metal Shop's Backstage Pass

Kevin hopped online to chat with Xibalba guitarist Brian Ortiz about their brand new upcoming album along with lots of Sopranos talk, ranking his favorite death metal bands, his favorite quotable movies, growing up in the Pomona hardcore punk scene and they also chat about his side projects.

Kevin met up with Marshall, Roger and Joe from Southern California hardcore/metal band The Warriors for a few slices of pizza before their show at El Corazon on February 2th. They chatted about the making of their new album “Monomyth”, some of their early influences, being back out on the road again after some time away and some things they’re excited for in 2020.

Badass up-and-coming Northwest doom band SORCIA joined us in studio this week to chat about their band, where they come from, their musical influences and even some of their musical family roots.  Tune in til the end to hear their debut single!

Kevin sat down with metal guitar icon Ross the Boss before his show at El Corazon in Seattle. Ross formed both The Dictators and Manowar, two legendary bands! He then continued to rock with Ross the Boss and many other badass projects.
Kevin and Ross chat about everything from his favorite guitarists of all time and how he started playing guitar to just why Manowar fans are so diehard.

Metal legend Max Cavalera truly needs no introduction. The man behind Soulfly, Nailbomb, Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy allowed Kevin on his bus before his gig at El Corazon to chat about a bunch of nerdy metalhead topics including
- some of his favorite underground metal bands
- what he's been listening to
- some odd music we might not expect him to be into
- what historical band would he love to jam with for one night
- how he stays sane with all the craziness in the world
- what's the plan for the next Soulfly album
- not owning a cell phone (!)
