Metal Shop's Backstage Pass

This week on the podcast we talk all about the two voices of Killswitch Engage (Howard Jones and Jesse Leach) singing together onstage in the UK + we chat about what is happening with the upcoming Warrel Dane solo album. We also talk a bit about new music by High on Fire, Pig Destroyer, Terror, Deicide and Soulfly + preview some killer shows coming to Seattle.

Year Of The Cobra is one of the best bands from this area and they have been spreading the Northwest heaviness throughout the world, touring hard and rocking out harder. It was great to have Jon and Amy back in the studio to talk shop.

Vancouver, BC thrash band Expain is playing their first set of shows in the states this week, so we had them stop by the studio to hang out and chat.

Darkness Stole The Sky is a band from Olympia and they have been hard at work for quite a few years. We were stoked to get them in studio to hear some of their music and talk shop.

Welcome back to Metal Shop's Backstage Pass. Our summer started off with an unfortunate news headline, as legendary drummer Vinnie Paul passed away last week. We talk all about Vinnie's legacy, his music and his plans for burial, etc. Other topics we discuss this week include the new albums by Immortal, Dee Snider, Converge and Deicide, Hodor from Game Of Thrones shredding alongside Megadeth, Dying Fetus is bringing Gatecreeper, Incantation and Genocide Pact on tour with them (BRUTAL!) and Trevor from the Black Dahlia Murder showed some major love to the Northwest metal scene by giving huge props to both Hoth and Oxygen Destroyer. Plus, we get extra filthy with another edition of Brutal Poetry: Too Hot For Radio.
