It was late 2025 when we first learned about Fire In The Mountains. After it was only a matter of minutes before we knew this was a festival we had to go to. We got our tickets to this metal festival before a line up was announced or before we knew just how we were getting there. The journey was long, but well worth it. To get to sleep under the stars surrounded by mountains with killer music throughout the day. A huge thank you to the Blackfeet Nation for opening up your land and culture to host this one of a kind event.

Movies have always shared themes. There were the twin asteroid disaster movies Deep Impact and Armageddon. Or the two volcano movies, Volcano and Dante's Peak. So why should Woodstock ‘99 not have two documentaries? In the last episode we reviewed the Netflix doc. In this we take a look at HBO’s offering - Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage.

Woodstock is one of those words where by simply hearing it conjures so many images in our heads. For most we think of the festival, not the place. After all, there were three festivals. However the images we see when hearing Woodstock are that of the peace, love, and happiness of ‘69. Or rage, greed, and destruction of ‘99. How could they be so different? This question is attempted to be answered in the three part Netflix documentary - Trainwreck: Woodstock '99. Join us as we take a look at and share our thoughts on one of our favorite music related documentaries.

It was the fourth Karen’s pick 666 when we listened to A Feral Spirit by Blood Of The Black Owl. It introduced us to a genre of music we were unaware of. It was spiritual and tribal. As we explored this genre further we discovered more bands like Heilung and Eluveitie. Then while doom scrolling we saw an ad for Skald. Their music was unique yet familiar. With the show being not far from us at Reggies we showed up to buy tickets at the door. Opening for Skald was Haxa. Haxa brought their own unique sound to the stage with a blend of electronic, witch, and folk. This night was a great start for our upcoming summer trip to the mountains and put us in the perfect headspace.

We take a short journey to Michigan for Midwest Brewtal Fest. A festival at North America’s largest beer garden promised to be a killer day of music from a wide range of genres and plenty of brew to be had. Join us as we share our thoughts on this unique festival and see if it delivered on the MASSIVE experience it promised to be

From time to time we do like to experience genres other than metal music. This time it’s dark country. Or is it gothic americana? Or how about murder folk? We don’t honestly know. We are not always the best at genres. But it was a show featuring The Dead South and Amigo The Devil. Definitely not our go to style that's for sure. Regardless, it was still a fun show.

Can you replicate the feeling of finding a band for the first time? We aren’t quite sure of the answer. However, we did visit the Rock Club at Reggies to try and replicate the first time we saw Dusk at Milwaukee Metal Fest a week before.. They were one of the openers along with Fer De Lance and the headliner Worm. Join us as we discuss our thoughts on seeing them again. 

This week we wrap up our time at Milwaukee Metal Fest 2026 covering day 2 and 3. Of course we cap off the episode with a short chat about our pros and cons of this year's fest and how we think it could possibly be improved next year.

For this year's headliners we got Acid Bath, Killswitch Engage, and Ministry with nonstop music all day from some killer bands. Join us in this episode while we chat about the pre-party and day one of this festival that we look forward to each year.

Sometimes more than one show you want to see gets announced on the same day. Other times, you have to juggle several other commitments around a show. You may or may not be able to attend because of this. That was the dilemma we had when both Sepultura and Cradle Of Filth were announced in Chicago. We had to determine what, if any, show we were going to see. Then we saw that these tours  were being combined into one show at the Rave in Milwaukee. And we were free. So of course this made the decision easy for us.
