Metric's Beat Cave

BACK, that's right!

Handing out the goodies once again, this time of the broken variety, slim pickings as that is this days. When combined with some classics, digging and breaks create a lovely summery mix for you folks.

It's times like these that I remember why I started mixing tunes over seven summers and (it's actually eight, but hey I had some alliteration going there!) and why I still love doing this today.(Though none of these artist today actually got me mixing)

I shouldn't really be giving away my musical past so candidly. If I ever start making tunes and giving interviews, I want to be able to give the standard "I starting DJing in the early 90's playing acid house and techno and breaks" line or face expulsion from the underground community, but Hey F@*& It

Ohhhhh and no I didn't get the name from the release Blue Mar Ten release I've only just seen that and I've had this name for over a year now. So don't start.

AND on final notes, really sorry to anyone who is noticing the dodge audio quality on the last few mixes will sort out a better way of recording ASAP, and after to listening this on the way to work I might start uploading a higher quality version to my soundcloud for the first (and probably only) 100 people because, with this mix I fully see that 128k MP3s barely do the music justice and the WAV sounds so much fuller.

Till the next one, Enjoy &

Peace

Yes yes, hello again to all. Thanks for stopping by again, today i give you a taste of a standard rinse out affair in the den, a little liquid, a little jump up, a tease, a few breaks, some strings and lots of bass.

Really getting into the mood of spending a decent part of weekend in the den again so the mixes show no immediate signs of stopping especially with the 'kids' moving on.

A vary mixed bag here, starting up with the same intro as the very first recorded mix i ever passed out (uploaded to tut web) and continuing with party tunes of all kinds and ending with some syncopation as i needed to add an extra track to take us up to the hour.

I told you I'd be back,Fresh off the back of a podcast, another one arriving on time and of a different style to the previous, the way it was meant to be I believe.Anyway enough with self congratulation. As the title suggest, this mix delivers in many ways, firstly the fact the podcast is back on a roll for 2011 back to back with the increase of tempo of this hour, all rounded up with the quite well composed structure of this mix, all indeed GATHERING MOMENTUM!!A year on from the first bases of the mix 'Original Sin > Sometime Sad DayThe quest is completed This mix=A Complete JourneyAnyway, on with the show. dBridge - Memory Park [Free Download]Alaska & Nucleus - Ataciara [Arctic]Instra:mental - End Credits [NonPlus+ Ltd]dBridge, Instra:mental & Skream - Acacia Avenue [Autonomic]Skream - Reflections (ft dBridge & Instra:mental) [Tempa]Synkro - Departure [Med School]ASC - Absent Mind [NonPlus+]Sabre - Original Sin [Critical]Rufige Kru - Sometime Sad Day [Metalheadz]Sub - So Finster die Nacht (Fracture’s Astrophonica Remix) [Pinecone Moonshine]Seba - Painted skies [Secret Operations]Calibre - Corner Dance [Signature]High Contrast - Return of Forever [Hospital]Roni Size - Only a Dream [V Recordings]Aswad - City Lock (Breakage Remix) [Rhythm Riders]Blocks & Escher - Shadow Play [Digital Soundboy]Furney - Mancini [Soundtrax]Marcus Intalex & S.T Files - Love & Happiness [31 Records]Requiem - Synaesthesis [Outsider]Dub-One - Wray [Ingredients]

Ohhh and incase you were expecting more of a mention, yes the page has had a little freshening up with a new banner and framing, updating the tired one. Not as customised as i would like but it was a real nightmare just getting it looking half decent, and it still has flaws. I've also recently added a clustermap as a way of benchmarking podomatic's crazy traffic stats (let's see 'how much i'm doing for the love')

Hello,

Remember this site? Nah? First podcast of 2011, what 5 months in? But who's counting?

Anyway this ones a goodie, starting with some of the slower stuff I enjoy but i always find harder to fit in a session due to the tempo to a house heavy influence in the later stages playing some summer joints for the good weather that been floating around.

Waking up and step up to the den for a little spin ended up with me getting a serious head bop going, with when coupled with the soaring temperature of the den in summer end up with the title of this latest instalment
