Scripture calls us to Gratitude. But real talk ... Gratitude is hard! Especially when things aren't going well, when our nation is divided, when we are sick, weak, struggling, confused, etc.

Even so, we do well to recall that Spiritual Gratitude is not thankfulness for things being well and perfect. Rather, Spiritual Gratitude is quiet confidence that even if things are messed up, there will be healing and stability in the fullness of time, because God is still sovereign upon His throne, and has care for His elect people. In short, we have Gratitude when we are confident that God is working all things for His glory and our eternal good.

Salvation does not come from our sheer effort, but rather, it is found in Christ alone. Peace and strength are not distant from any of us, but rather, they are near and accessible in the presence of Jesus our Lord. This is good news not only for eternty, but for today and tomorrow.
