While the Gospel is personal, each of us must choose to be into a relationship with God, the full expression of the Gospel is the church, made up of His children. Unity is paramount not only because it’s how we get more done and how we grow into maturity in Christ, but because together we are the witness of God’s love in the world. They will know we are Christians by how we love one another. Amidst all the pressures we face as believer’s living in a hostile world and the evil forces around us at work to disrupt our unity as a church, Paul calls us to remains steadfast, to see the big picture, to off load all earthly concerns and to look for ways we can bring the healing balm of the Gospel to bear on a world broken by sin. The sobering and exciting truth is, we will have as much influence in the world as we have unity together.
