Season 7 is presented by Little Caesars, and our kickoff show features John Hough of Gateway Sports Venue and Tyler Perry, our wrestling guru.

7.1 begins with KP's Corner, the high school update. For today's segment, we are joined by STL scholastic sports sensation John Hough, founder of Gateway Sports Venue. Dave and KP reveal the latest girls small and large school rankings, and the guys talk about the leading scorer, Josie Christopher of O'Fallon, and the prominent games from last week. KP also mentions the boys' and girls' games to watch next week.

Then, Hough talks about the "major stories" from the high school hoop season thus far. He talks about ESTL dominance, and he makes a prediction for a strong finish for the Flyers.

Next, Dave talks about the IHSA state dance finals last weekend, and he congratulates Highland on their top 10 finish.

Then, we talk hockey as we preview the playoffs, which begin this week. Dave talks about the dominance of the top 2 teams (Belleville and Edwardsville), and he predicts an outstanding final series from these two teams.

Up next, we discuss the IHSA cheer finals, and Dave reads the list of the qualifying teams in all three categories.

Finally, we talk about the wrestling Regionals with our wrestling expert Tyler Perry. We reveal our latest team rankings, and Tyler discusses last weekend's Regional results, congratulating Althoff, Mascoutah, and Edwardsville for advancing their teams to Sectionals later this week. Perry also mentions the individuals predicted to medal at individual state.

This episode begins with KP's High School Corner, as KP and Dave are joined by Matt Kamp. The guys reveal the latest boys basketball ranking and discuss the teams that are surging down the stretch. KP and Matt break down a few of the recent games, and they note the upcoming games they're looking forward to seeing. Then, Dave talks hockey, listing the top 9 scorers, and the gang previews the big Edwardsville vs . Belleville game scheduled for tomorrow night. Finally, Dave rolls out our latest boys and girls wrestling rankings.

Next up, we present the MESPY for the 1A Girls XC Runner of the Year to Gianna Stassi of Roxana HS. Stassi is joined in the studio by her coach Ben Scamihorn, and she talks about being on three teams at RHS: XC, track and field, and soccer. Stassi talks about how she keeps things loose at practice and how she is able to manage her hectic schedule.

Then, we present the MESPY for 2A Girls XC Runner of the Year to Triad HS's Emmy Goins, who is joined by her coach Megan DeLong. Goins talks about the challenges of being the top runner at THS as a freshman, and DeLong describes Goins's tough, out-in-front style of racing.

6.48: This season is presented by Little Caesars Pizza, and we are BACK ON LOCATION at the BOS Winter Classic Basketball Tournament at Belleville East.

Joe Nesbit, the Lancer AD, extended the invitation, and KP and Dave hit the road to check out the event on January 21, 2026. The extensive list of guests includes Adnan Al-Amami, Austin Frazier; Michael Harrison Jr., and Jonathan Rulo; Steven Stock; Aaron Kremmel; Eric Huber; Joe Rujawitz; Alex Schobert; and Joe Nesbit.

KP and Dave begin by talking to Althoff coaches Adnan Al-Amami and Austin Frazier. Frazier, the Head Football Coach, discusses his team's challenging season following a state championship and undefeated year. Al-Amami, Frazier's "right-hand man," talks about transitioning from football to coaching the girls' basketball season. KP and Frazier talk about their long family history together.

Next, the guys are joined by Belleville East Head Coach Michael Harrison Jr. and star athlete Jonathan "Juice" Rulo. Harrison drops a bombshell: he has accepted a position as an AP at East. East has already hired a new HC! Rulo accepts the MESPYs for Lineman of the Year and Player of the Year in the large school division. He reveals his plan to play at Cincinnati next year.

Then, broadcast prodigy and college student, Steven Stock, catches us up on the progress of his broadcasting journey. He continues to do work for SWIC and East, but plans to transition to SIUE in the spring.

Next, we talk to athletic trainer Aaron Kremmel, who shares the news about the collaborative efforts of the local trainers, especially those in the SWC.

Eric Huber, Vice President of BOS is back to chat about why the Bank of Springfield continues to support this incredible event.

Joe Rujuawitz is the Principal at BE, and he believes maintaining an athlete's disciplined schedule in his daily life enables him to "be his best" in leading the Lancers. The results speak for themselves. He joins the guys to share details of his journey from wrestler to principal.

Alex Schobert, BW Head Basketball Coach, joins the crew next. Schobert talks about the development of his squad and speaks optimistically about the remainder of the season.

Finally, we wrap things up with East's AD Joe Nesbit. Nesbit talks about the relative ease of year #2 in this position, and he talks about what he's learned on the job thus far.

Next, Dave provides our latest rankings in hockey and girls and boys wrestling.

Our first guests of the night are Brayden Kerns, our 1A golfer of the year, and his coach, Dave Hylla from McGivney HS. Kerns, the area's top finisher at state in 1A, talks about how he got his start in the game, and he describes his strengths on the course. Coach Hylla describes the prowess of this year's team, and he shares his high expectations for the future; he also talks about his role in "keeping it fun for the kids."

Next, we speak over the phone with co-MESPY winner for Small School Football Team of the Year, Coach Aaron Elmore of Calhoun HS. Elmore led the Warriors Football Team to the state semi-finals. He describes teaching and coaching at his alma mater, coaching his son, who started at quarterback as a sophomore, and all the things that make football at Calhoun "special."

We wrap up the show by presenting the MESPY for 3A Boys XC Team of the Year to the Edwardsville Tigers, who are represented in the studio by star runners Cooper Wittek and Colin Thomas. The guys talk about the "closeness" of the squad, and Wittek convinces Dave why "closeness matters for a XC team." Thomas describes running for Coach Patrylak, and both boys share what they'll miss about EHS next year.

6.46 Features KP's Corner with Kevin Pawlow; Columbia HS Boys and Girls Soccer Coach Jamey Bridges with star Midfielder Luke Dewilde; and IHSA Basketball Administrator Gary Gustafson.

The show begins with KP's Corner. Coach Pawlow and Dave go over the latest boys basketball rankings for large and small schools. Then, Dave talks about the games he attended at Civic Memorial High School as the Eagles hosted the Mascoutah Indians. KP reviews a few boys and girls games of interest and then Dave reviews the local hockey and wrestling rankings in all three classes, according to wrestling fanatic, Tyler Perry.

The episode continues with Columbia HS Boys and Girls Soccer Coach Jamey Bridges. The Eagles won the IHSA State 1A championship, and Coach Bridges is in the studio to accept the award. And he shares insight into his calm, yet competitive, coaching philosophy. Bridges is joined by one of the country's best soccer players, Luke Dewilde, our MESPY winner for 1A Player of the Year. Dewilde discusses playing center midfield and the team's growth throughout the year. He also shares some long-term goals for high school and beyond.

Rounding out the show, we meet with Gary Gustafson, who has been active in basketball officiating and administrating for 50 years! Gustafson discusses what it takes to officiate well, and he he shares memories from his illustrious career. KP talks about the time Gary "died on the court," and Gary tells the story of the time he threw the coach out before the game even started.

Then, Zane Maxwell, 3A Soccer Player of the Year is in the studio to discuss his position change from midfield to striker, playing for Coach Heiderscheide in his last season as the helm of the Tiger program, playing two sports at EHS, and then he answers three questions right for extra credit!

Next, Sara Hyten and Coach Finn from McGivney are in the studio to accept the MESPY for 1A Golfer of the Year. Hyten discusses her state championship and friendly rivalry with Columbia's top golfer. Finn describes Hyten's dramatic victory, and he shares his thoughts on his top player's strengths. Hyten also talks about her plan to attend Florida Gulf Coast University.

Wrapping up the show, we present the MESPY for 1A Boys XC Team of the Year to Metro East Lutheran High School. In the studio we are joined by Coach Kevin Reiseck alongside top runners Jack Shank and Lucas Abbott. Reiseck, a Los Angeles native, explains his love for the community of Hamel and his passion for the sport and working with the runners at MELHS. Shank and Abbott talk about leading the Knights to their "best season ever," and how the strength of their friendship led to success on the course.

6.44 features 6 amazing collegiate athletes, and then Coach Pawlow is back for KP's Corner.

The show begins with SIUE Women's Basketball stars Kiyoko Proctor and Lauren Miller, two freshmen who are leading the team in scoring. The ladies discuss what enabled them to be ready to contribute in their rookie seasons, and they share their dreams for their careers at SIUE, along with their plans to turn them into fruition.

Next up, we catch up with Lindenwood catcher Jake Radesovich. Formerly a star at Triad and LCCC, Radesovich was among the team leaders in home runs and RBI. He shares his beliefs on the game: "it owes me nothing." And he speaks candidly about the confusing nature of NCAA eligibility and living with Type 1 diabetes.

Then, we are joined by three players representing the "hottest team in the 618," the undefeated women's basketball team at SWIC. Kelbie Zupan, Holly Woods, and Layla Pierce share their unique basketball journeys that led them to play junior college basketball in Belleville, where they are thriving. The ladies discuss playing for Coach Denney, and they describe their team's incredible success thus far.

We round out the show with "KP's Corner" presented by Dazzling Decor and More. In this segment, the guys reveal the latest boys basketball rankings, and they talk about the teams that moved up and down the rankings. Then, KP highlights the holiday tournaments for the Metro East teams.

Coach Brooke Kloess joins Boehm, and the pair shares their most memorable moments during their tenure together. They also speak candidly about the "learning curve" associated with their time together, and Boehm credits strength and conditioning coach Frank Campbell with helping her reach new heights, literally. Kloess brings her 3 young daughters into the studio, and Boehm talks about her tremendous support group, including these three young admirers.

Finally, we present the MESPY for 3A Girls XC Team of the Year for the third consecutive year to Coach George Patrylak of Edwardsville HS. Patrylak led the Tigers to a program-high 8th-place finish at state. He is joined by "three of the top 5 runners to ever run at EHS," Ella Thompson and sisters Madison Popelar and Morgan Popelar. Coach Patrylak talks about the unique closeness of this team. Madison describes how sitting out the spring of her junior season due to an injury made her appreciate the opportunity more. Thompson talks about her favorite memories of the season, and she looks ahead to providing a leadership role next season. Morgan shares her thoughts on running with her sister, and she candidly reveals which sister is most likely to inspire the other to go for a run.

6.42 is all about hoops and the little white ball, as we welcome former PGA pro Jay Delsing with local golf guru Mike Suhre; Rachel Johnson, 2A MESPY Winner for Golfer of the Year; and Coach Brock Quigley of Red Bud Boys Golf with his entire squad.

This episode is recorded at The Clubhouse Sports Lounge. First we talk boys basketball with Coach Pawlow for "KP's Corner." KP and Dave reveal the latest basketball rankings, and they talk about the biggest risers and fallers in the small and large school rankings. KP calls Alton the "real deal," and Dave talks about Staunton moving up to #1 in the small school rankings.

Next, Dave welcomes back Mike Suhre of Oak Brook GC, and they are joined by STL golf legend Jay Delsing, who has just published his book, You Wouldn't Believe Me If I Told You. Delsing calls himself the "luckiest man who ever lived," and he talks about his humble beginnings in North County, his time playing golf at UCLA, and his 700 events played on the PGA Tour. Delsing discusses playing with Sean Connery and the "biggest mistake" he sees sports parents making.

Next up, Dave and Mike are joined by the MESPY winner for 2A Girls Golfer of the Year, Rachel Johnson of EHS. Johnson talks about her college commitment for next year, and the inspiration she found in her sister Nicole. Additionally, she describes playing at the state tournament and her growth throughout her high school career.

Rounding out the show, Coach Brock Quigley of Red Bud Boys Golf brings his varsity players. The Musketeers are the winners of 1A Boys Golf Team of the Year and the Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month. This group is only the third team to qualify for state in the history of the school, and Coach Quigley describes the keys to his team's success. The guys share their favorite on and off the course memories, and with only one senior in the bunch, they talk about their lofty goals for their upcoming years at RBHS.

It features Volleyball Analyst Jack Grimm and the MESPY winners from Belleville East Lancers Volleyball: Head Coach Abby Hanger, Assistant Coach Addie Burris, and MESPY Winner for Setter of the Year Abi Monroe; Kevin Pawlow with Greg Knolhoff and SWIC Women's Basketball Coach John Denney; and, from Central Football Coach Brian Short, the Central small co-team of the year with Bryce Wieter and Cole Davis.

The show begins with our volleyball expert, Jack Grimm, who presents the MESP for Large School Team of the Year to the Belleville East Head Coach, Abby Hangar, who is joined by her assistant, Addie Burris. The two share the team philosophy ("Brick by brick"), and they discuss what made this team so special. The coaches are joined by the MESPY inner for Setter of the Year, Abi Monroe. Monroe discusses focusing on the present to put together an epic season and being a two-sport star (softball) at BE.

Next up, it's KP's Corner. Coach Pawlow and Dave are joined by Greg Knolhoff, who assists two of the "best women's basketball programs in the Metro East: O'Fallon THS and SWIC." KP, Dave, and Greg go over the updated girls' rankings, review the big boys and girls games from last week, and look ahead to the major contests coming up. Also, Dave lists the area's top 12 female scorers.

Then, SWIC Women's Basketball Head Coach John Denney is back to talk about his undefeated Blue Storm. Coach Denney talks about the keys to the team's success, and he and Knolhoff talk about recruiting top players to come to SWIC. Denney also reveals what type of player he's looking for.

Rounding out the show, Coach Brian Short of Central Football is back to accept the MESPY for Small School of the Year. Short talks about building the program at Central, and he talks about the point at which he began to feel like they had turned a corner. He also discusses creating a family atmosphere and continuing to inject "love" into the team. He is joined by star 2-way player Bryce Wieter and Coe Davis. Both players are All-State, and they describe playing at Central on their "new turf field," and what they'll miss about playing at Central. Davis also accepts the MESPY for Small School Player of the Year.
